The classic Batman Beyond animated series, which originally debuted on The WB/KidsWB! before moving to Cartoon Network, is part of the television line-up for the new The Hub network. The Hub network is the rebranding of the current Discovery Kids cable/satellite channel, and is being marketed as a new network. The network launches this Sunday, on October 10th, 2010. The Hub, a multi-platform joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc., will feature original programming as well as content from Discovery’s library of children’s educational programming; from Hasbro’s portfolio of entertainment and educational properties built during the past 90 years; and from leading third-party producers worldwide. The Hub lineup will include animated and live-action series, specials and game shows, and the network will extend its content through a robust and engaging online presence. The Hub launches on Sunday, October 10th, 2010, reaching approximately 60 million U.S. households on what is currently Discovery Kids channel.
In additional Batman Beyond-related news, DC Comics has announced a new ongoing series for the character will be launched in January 2011. Written by Adam Beechen with art provided by Ryan Benjamin, the creative team of the current Batman Beyond mini-series, the new ongoing series will continue to follow the exploits of Terry McGinnis, the Batman of the future, in the established mainstream DC Universe.
