Warner Home Video Releases New “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox” Images And Video Clip

Warner Home Video has released new images and a clip from the upcoming Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated feature. Slated to hit shelves July 30th, 2013, the animated feature is based on the recent DC Comics mini-series event “Flashpoint,” which resulted in the creation of the publisher’s current “The New 52” initiative. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox continues the successful ongoing DC Universe Animated Original Movies line from Warner Home Video. Today’s clip finds Barry Allen (Flash) explaining the “Speed Force” to Batman (Thomas Wayne, in Flashpoint’s fractured timeline). Flash and Batman are voiced by Grey’s Anatomy stars Justin Chambers and Kevin
McKidd, respectively.

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will be released as a Blu-Ray Combo Pack and DVD on July 30, 2013.

Confirmed Details For 2014 “Son of Batman” And “Batman: Assault on Arkham” Animated Features

A representative for Warner Home Video has confirmed details for the freshly-announced Son of Batman and Batman: Assault on Arkham direct-to-video animated features, part of the 2014 DC Universe Animated Original Movie release calendar. Warner Home Video released details on these upcoming features Friday night, July 19th, 2013, at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con. A co-production of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line adapts stories from DC Comics lore mixed with new content.

The World’s Finest has received confirmation that Son of Batman, currently scheduled for a Summer 2014 release, will adapt the Grant Morrison “Batman and Son” storyline from the Batman comic title published by DC Comics. The film is currently in production. No cast and crew details are available as of yet, but are expected to be announced in late 2013/early 2014.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Batman: Assault on Arkham animated feature will take place in the same world and continuity as the popular Batman: Arkham video game series. The feature will be based on the world established by the acclaimed video game franchise, with some talent involved with those games slated to be part of the Batman: Assault on Arkham animated feature. It has also been confirmed the game will not be made up of footage from the games, but fresh animation. The title is expected for a Fall 2014 release as an extension of the growing brand.

Additionally, The World’s Finest received confirmation that voice recording for the first title in the 2015 line-up of DC Universe Animated Original Movies titles is currently underway.

New Images Released From Upcoming “Young Justice: Legacy” Video Game

Publisher Little Orbit has provided a new set of images from the upcoming Young Justice: Legacy video game title, which is slated to arrive September 10th, 2013 for all major consoles. Young Justice: Legacy, released in conjuncture with Warner Bros. Interactive, is an Action-RPG based on the popular Young Justice animated series that fills in the gap between the first and second season of the acclaimed animated series. Little Orbit is the studio handling the upcoming video game. The video game will launch for an assortment of consoles including the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS and Wii-U. Based on WB’s animated series airing on Cartoon Network, Young Justice: Legacy is an Action RPG where players control multiple characters in a squad created from 12 possible team members to explore, fight, gather experience, and level up. It will feature both solo and multiplayer missions that follow an epic plotline spanning many locations all across the DC Comics world of Earth-16.

A renowned archaeologist, Dr. Helena Sandsmark, is kidnapped, and the Young Justice team tracks a group of the Light’s most notorious villains around the globe in an effort to rescue her. But when the young heroes discover the Light is exploiting Dr. Sandsmark’s expertise to locate fragments of an ancient statue of legendary power, they must race against time to save the planet from imminent disaster.

A representative for Little Orbit said additional promotional material is set to be released in the coming weeks, including further videos, images, and details on the game content.

Young Justice: Legacy, released by Little Orbit through Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, will hit all major home consoles on September 10th, 2013. Coverage Of San Diego Comic-Con 2013 “Batman: The Animated Series Turns 21” Panel

The 21st birthday of the classic Batman: The Animated Series cartoon was celebrated over the weekend at one of the biggest comic conventions in North America. The San Diego Comic-Con convention is held every year, focusing on host of different genres and pop culture events, with everything from comics to movies covered over the span of a long weekend. The 2013 schedule for the famed San Diego Comic-Con included a panel dedicated to the classic Batman: The Animated Series landmark cartoon, with a host of the series’ creators in tow. The hour-long panel “Batman: The Animated Series Turns 21” was held on Saturday, July 20th, 2013 at the San Diego Comic-Con, and featured Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Alan Burnett, Eric Radomski, along with a surprise guest. “Son of Batman” And “Batman: Assault on Arkham” Announced For 2014 DC Animated Universe Original Movie Slate

Warner Home Video has released details on the 2014 line-up of titles in the acclaimed DC Universe Animated Original Movie line Friday night, July 19th, 2013, at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, with the new titles highlighting Batman. The new 2014 titles were announced during the world premiere of the new Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated feature. A co-production of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line adapts stories from DC Comics lore mixed with new content. At least three new titles are released a year since the line’s inception in 2007.

The upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles announced include Son of Batman, based on the “Batman and Son” story-arc from Batman, coming for Summer 2014. Then, Batman: Assault on Arkham will see release come Fall 2014, taking advantage of the high-profile “Arkham” brand.

These two titles will join the previously announced Justice League: War animated feature, slated for Winter/Spring 2014, with details on that title originally broken right here at The World’s Finest.

Warner Home Video’s Gary Miereanu screened the Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated feature, based on the DC Comics mini-series “Flashpoint,” at San Diego Comic-Con before announcing details on the upcoming 2014 titles.
