Little Orbit Cancels “Young Justice: Legacy” Titles For Wii and WiiU Video Game Consoles

Publisher Little Orbit has announced the Wii and WiiU editions for the upcoming Young Justice: Legacy video game title have been cancelled. The Young Justice game will no longer hit the major Nintendo consoles, save for a Nintendo 3DS release. Slated to hit shelves on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013, Young Justice: Legacy is an Action-RPG based on the recent Young Justice animated series that fills in the gap between the first and second season of the acclaimed DC Comics cartoon. Little Orbit confirmed Young Justice: Legacy will see definite release on the aforementioned Nintendo 3DS handheld console, along with editions for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Steam. Below is the publisher’s official announcement on the console cancellation.

“Based on several factors we’ve had to cancel the Wii and Wii-U versions of Young Justice: Legacy.

We regret that this decision will prevent some fans from playing the game and the finding out what happens in the story. There were a number of reasons ranging from quality issues to lack of retailer support, but know that we didn’t make this decision lightly. We are a fairly new company, and unfortunately both of these platforms presented challenges we couldn’t overcome.

Please accept our sincere apology.

We look forward to delivering the Xbox360, PS3, 3DS, and Steam versions in less than a month.”

Based on WB’s animated series airing on Cartoon Network, Young Justice: Legacy is an Action RPG where players control multiple characters in a squad created from 12 possible team members to explore, fight, gather experience, and level up. It will feature both solo and multiplayer missions that follow an epic plotline spanning many locations all across the DC Comics world of Earth-16.

A renowned archaeologist, Dr. Helena Sandsmark, is kidnapped, and the Young Justice team tracks a group of the Light’s most notorious villains around the globe in an effort to rescue her. But when the young heroes discover the Light is exploiting Dr. Sandsmark’s expertise to locate fragments of an ancient statue of legendary power, they must race against time to save the planet from imminent disaster.

Young Justice: Legacy, released by Little Orbit through Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, will hit most major home consoles and Steam on November 19th, 2013.
