New Video Clip, Images Released For Upcoming “Son Of Batman” Animated Feature

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released three new images and a video clip from the upcoming direct-to-video animated movie Son of Batman. The new clip spotlights Damian Wayne. The 20th installment of the ongoing DC Universe Original Movie line will arrive Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and for Digital Download. Son of Batman is inspired by the acclaimed Batman comic book storyline “Batman and Son” written by Grant Morrison, wherein Batman discovers he has a son – named Damian – with Talia Al Ghul.

Son of Batman is also being released as part of the year-long “Batman 75” celebrations, commemorating the 75th anniversary of Batman’s first comic book appearance. More details on “Batman 75” can be found here.

Early Cover Artwork For “Batman: Assault On Arkham” Home Entertainment Release

The World’s Finest has obtained a look at the early cover artwork for the upcoming home video release of Batman: Assault on Arkham, the next installment in the ongoing DC Universe Animated Original Movie line. The animated feature – set for release come Summer 2014 on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and for Digital Download – features a new story based on the popular Batman: Arkham video game series. In Batman: Assault on Arkham, the Suicide Squad is tasked with breaking into Arkham Aslyum to stop The Joker, with Batman working the same case.

May 2014 Sees Single New Episode Of “Teen Titans Go!” Scheduled On Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has provided details for the sole new episode of the Teen Titans Go! animated series slated to air on the network for May 2014. Teen Titans Go!, a half-hour comedy/adventure series comprised of two back-to-back 15-minute episodes, follows the hilarious antics of the teenage superhero team as they deal with what happens between major battles. The DC Comics-inspired cartoon airs Wednesdays at 6:30pm (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network, with regular re-airings throughout the week on the animated-themed channel. Continue below for further details.

Save for the sole new episodes, Cartoon Network is slated to air predominantly reruns of the comedic Teen Titans Go! cartoon for the month of May 2014.

Airing with Teen Titans Go! is the short-form program DC Nation, featuring animated shorts and behind-the-scenes content starring a host of DC Comics characters. The short-form programming banner also airs Wednesday nights on Cartoon Network, usually during the commercial break following the 6:30pm (ET/PT) episode of Teen Titans Go!.

Teletoon at Night Superfan Movie Airing “Batman: Year One” Animated Feature

The Canadian network Teletoon is slated to air the Batman: Year One animated feature as part of the network’s “Teletoon at Night Superfan Movies” programming block. The 2011 direct-to-video title is slated to air Friday, May 2nd, 2014 at 9:00pm (ET/PT) on the popular Canadian channel. The weekly “Teletoon at Night Superfan Movies” programming block on Teletoon, airing Fridays starting at 9:00pm (ET/PT), features a mix of super-hero and sci-fi-based movies, both live-action and animated.

Batman: Year, which explores the origin of Batman and Lieutenant James Gordon, is part of the ongoing DC Universe Animated Original Movie line from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, and DC Entertainment. The DC Universe Animated Original Movie line is a regular fixture on Teletoon, with assorted titles airing multiple times on the network throughout the year. Batman: Year One is based on the landmark 1987 DC Comics titles from 12-time Eisner Award winner Frank Miller and illustrator David Mazzucchelli. The film depicts young Bruce Wayne’s return to Gotham City in his first attempts to fight injustice as a costumed vigilante. The playboy billionaire chooses the guise of a giant bat to combat crime, creates an early bond with a young Lieutenant James Gordon (who is already battling corruption from inside the police department), inadvertently plays a role in the birth of Catwoman, and helps to bring down a crooked political system that infests Gotham.
