Bio: Batman confides in and trusts James Gordon. The Gotham PD is
crawling with crooked men with badges. He is an honored police officer
and father of Barbara Gordon. Gordon, through devotion and remaining an
honest cop among mass police corruption, rose through the ranks to
Lieutenant and ultimately to Commissioner. Batman and James Gordon share
a special friendship, even though Gordon does not know who the man is
under the mask. Their secret meeting places to discuss strategies and
criminals, have become a mainstay in their relationship. Although today
the Batman is embraced by Gotham City, Gordon is still chastised for
relying on the Dark Knight too much over those who have the legal
authority in Gotham. Jim Gordon wouldn't have it any other way.
Bio (Cartoon Network): Commissioner James Gordon of the Gotham
City Police Department is one of Batman's most trusted allies. Batman
relies on Commissioner Gordon as both a confidant and a useful source of
information. Gordon, meanwhile, depends on Batman when the "Long Arm of
the Law" proves too short. This alliance, which has developed into a
genuine friendship, strikes fear in the hearts of Gotham's criminals.
Gordon is an honest and conscientious lawman who does not hesitate to
enlist Batman's talents in the service of justice. Indeed, Commissioner
Gordon has been criticized by some for relying too heavily on Batman's
aid, but Gordon just ignores these foolish claims. He knows that Gotham
City would be a much darker place without Batman. Gordon is unaware of
Batman's true identity. He is also unaware that his daughter, Barbara,
