Quotes
DICK: That's the sixth robbery in two weeks!
BRUCE: Seventh.
DICK MAKES A FACE AT BRUCE BEHIND HIS BACK.
--
KYODAI: Not bad for a rich man's son.
THE SENSAI LEAPS ACROSS THE ROOM AND THROWS KYODAI KEN TO THE FLOOR.
SENSAI: There's always someone better.
--
SENSAI: You practice as a man obsessed!
BRUCE IS STARTLED, HE BOWS TO HIS MASTER.
BRUCE: I'm not good enough, Yoru Sensai! I lost!
SENSAI: Everyone loses now and again.
BRUCE: I have to be the best there is, no matter what it takes!
SENSAI: Defeat can be more instructive than victory.
--
ROBIN: Listen, dipstick! Batman's my pal! He can be a major jerk, but you gotta love him, and no tries to fillet him when I'm around!
KYODAI: Another time then.
--
ROBIN: You okay?
BATMAN: I'm fine. Come on, there's nothing more to do here.
BATMAN TURNS AND WALKS AWAY.
ROBIN (like Batman): Thanks for saving my bacon, Robin.
ROBIN (as himself): Hey! No problemo, Batman!
--
BATMAN: His name is Kyodai Ken. He was good.
ROBIN: Yeah? How good?
BATMAN (quickly): Good.
ROBIN: I see. . .
--
DICK: I think Bruce is worried he can't take this ninja. He won't admit it, of course.
ALFRED: He never admits fear, Master Dick. Haven't you learned that by now?
THEY TURN TO SEE BRUCE STANDING SILENTLY IN THE DOORWAY. DICK AND ALFRED GASP IN ASTONISHMENT.
ALFRED: Ah, Master Bruce! I-- eh-- uh-- I--
BRUCE: I'll be at the museum. I should be back by midnight.
HE LEAVES.
DICK: Do you think he heard us?
ALFRED: Who could tell?
--
KYODAI: I was forced to become a thief after I was cast out of the dojo.
BRUCE: As I remember it, being a thief was what got you thrown out in the first place.
--
ROBIN: Let's just see who's going sleep-bye in the next couple of minutes, hun?
KYODAI: This isn't the movies, boy!
--
KYODAI: Gotten a second wind, have you? Good! This will make your defeat all the more satisfying.
BRUCE: Shut up and fight.

Review: This was a great episode in that it dealt both with Bruce's past, and also his fear of defeat. It was interesting to see him so uptight and quiet when it came to admitting he could have been defeated. Robin also was quite a nice touch to the episode with his added humor, especially when he mimics Batman for not thanking him. Summer Gleeson seemed tacked on at first, but her appearance in the finale made for a more interesting climax.

The animation was good, but Robin looked a little strange. He did look good during the Batman mimic scene though. There were some great facial expressions such as when Kyodai Ken was fed up of 'beating' Bruce.
