Quotes
WOMAN: I'm telling you it was a leprechaun!
OFFICER: Really, ma'am. You expect me to believe you saw a little green
man?
JUST THEN, BATMAN RUNS PAST, LEAPS ONTO THE ROOF OF THE POLICE CRUISER,
AND CONTINUES ON THE ROOFS OF CARS. THE WOMAN FAINTS INTO THE OFFICER'S
ARMS.
--
ALFRED: I do believe a break from Wayne Enterprises and crime fighting
would do wonders. Perhaps a vacation? Golf?
BRUCE: Sounds boring.
ALFRED: In the Bahamas?
BRUCE: Hot and boring. No, Alfred. I think this is a job for Batman.
ALFRED: You have a fine flare for dramatics, sir.
BRUCE (sarcastically): Why, thank you, Alfred.
--
ALFRED: Might this little one be a leprechaun?
BATMAN: This, Alfred, is our guest. I'd like you to take care of him.
ALFRED: Me!? But-- but I know nothing of children!
BATMAN: You'll do fine! Feed him, clean him and put him to bed.
ALFRED: Well, perhaps. . . Not in that order.
--
ALFRED: Rise and shine, Master Leprechaun. Time to be up and about. How
about a bath, don't you think? Do you have a name? I hope you don't
expect me to guess it. Fred? Pete? Leon? How 'bout 'Little Help'?
--
BATMAN: I don't know what kind of barbarian did this to you, but it's
over. And from now on you'll be treated like human beings.
THE SEWER KING APPEARS BEHIND BATMAN WITH TWO ALLIGATORS.
SEWER KING: I think we'll have something to say about that!
THE ALLIGATORS GROWL.
SEWER KING: Yes we will.
--
BATMAN SWINGS OVER THE 'GATORS AND LANDS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE POOL.
BATMAN: 'Later.
--
BATMAN: I don't pass sentence! That's for the courts! But this time. . .
This time I am sorely tempted to do the job myself!
Review: This episode seems to
be hated by everyone, but no one seems to look beyond the fictitious
aspect of this story and look to the truth of the story that situations
similar to this exist. Sure, there are no alligators in the sewers, but
there are children used for slave labor all around the world in sweat
shops and for other nasty deeds. This episode was trying to convey the
message, but not make it too hard for the children at home to watch. I
think a lot of you Bat-fans have to reconsider what this episode is all
about and not slander it because it doesn't have Batman pitted against
Joker trying to poison the water supply or something.
Well. . .
The animation was great, especially when Batman shoots out of the small
sewer into the main alligator room and grabs onto a pipe and when the
Alligator's dive into the water when Sewer King falls into the 'Gator
pool.
There was also the surprising aspect of Batman killing the 'Gator to get
free from a sticky situation. I guess it just goes to show how driven he
was to stop the madman, Sewer King.
