Review:

After searching for his Power Battery, Hal and the members of the Interceptor receive a message from Appa, telling them they need to find Green Lantern Tahvaarus and retrieve the code for the Lighthouse, which is located between the Forgotten Zone and Guardian space. One problem: Tahvaarus went missing a long time ago.

After discovering Tahvaarus was locked up at the Spider Guild Prison, the team return only to find out Tahvaarus is unable to give them to codes because well... he's dead. Fortunately, the code was passed on to his cellmate Byth Rok. This leads to some fun sequences involving the Lanterns, resident bruiser Bumpy, and Byth Rok's sharp tongue. Given the deceitful nature of Byth Rok, Hal and Kilowog are kept on their toes while struggling to stay one step ahead of the Red Lanterns (including their field leader Bleez), who are also after the Lighthouse code so they can begin their invasion of Oa.

I enjoyed seeing Goggan return from Razer's Edge as the new warden of the Spider Guild Prison. Even though some fans might be disappointed to see a returning location instead of a brand-new one, I felt the showrunners had a great story to tell here which involved the Thanagarians!

The Thanagarians are a nice treat because I wouldn't have expected to see such a well-known species from DC Comics in this show. I'm glad Hawkman and Hawkgirl didn't show up though, because a few unnamed or lesser-known warrior Thanagarians was interesting enough. Byth Rok was quite an interesting character since his allegiance always seemed to vary. I was honestly unsure of how the Green Lanterns would escape the Red Lanterns following their capture, but the episode throws you through a loop, so I have to give the writer Michael F. Ryan props for that. As for Bumpy, there's a hilarious moment during his fight with Hal that's worth keeping in mind.

Tom Kenny is quite compelling as the cunning and deceptive Byth Rok, while Rob Paulsen and Grey DeLisle reprise their roles as the worrisome Goggan and the malicious Bleez.

Have I ever said Bleez is a blast in this show? "If we catch you anywhere near this sector, we'll skin you alive!" I love Bleez! She's just the right amount of mean and nasty.

If I had any complaints, I would state my curiosity in why Kilowog would want to keep Tahvaarus' Lantern ring even though he was dead. It wasn't a big deal since the ring ended up somewhere else anyways.

This was a great lead-up to the last two episodes of the first half of the season. Enjoy this light yet compelling return to prison!
