Rich Fogel Talks 'Justice League: The Savage Time'
By Jim Harvey
07-26-2002

Toon Zone recently had a chance to catch up with Rich Fogel about the three part Justice League Cartoon Theatre movie "The Savage Time", scheduled to air Setpember 7th at 7pm (ET) on Cartoon Network.

"We're very excited that Cartoon Network is planning to run the three-part Savage Time as an event movie." said Fogel. "The epic scope and sweep of this one is truly astonishing as the Justice League jumps back in time to re-fight World War Two. Stan Berkowitz wrote the script and Butch Lukic and Dan Riba teamed up to direct it. This was a story we wanted to do for a long time because several of our heroes have roots that go back to the Golden Age, and we thought it would be fun to see them in that period setting."

"Also, it gave us an opportunity to have guest stars like Sgt. Rock and Blackhawk. Butch [Lukic], particularly, is a big fan of Sgt. Rock, and he went all out to ensure that the war settings felt authentic." said Rich Fogel. "The aerial fight scenes are breathtaking, with the Justice League taking on the entire Luftwaffe. Believe me, this one huge, packed with good old-fashioned action, heroism, and (hopefully) more than a few surprises."
