The World's Finest Presents
"Superman 75"

Click on the image below to view the 2013 released "Superman 75" animated short, produced by Bruce Timm (Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles) and directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel), created under the DC Nation animated shorts banner to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Superman's debut. The combined efforts of Snyder and Timm, alongside Warner Bros. Animation, have produced a two-minute animated short that takes the audience on an impressive, eye-popping, Easter Egg-laden tour of Superman’s 75-year history. The clip below is in the hi-res MP4 and Quicktime formats.

Warner Home Video and DC Comics provided the following description of the animated short.

In honor of the hero's 75th anniversary, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and DC animated universe maestro Bruce Timm have crafted this two-minute animated short, which blasts through the highlights of the character's many incarnations, from comics, to movies, video games, and even pop art.

"The idea was to start with Siegel and Shuster and end with Henry Cavill, stopping at all the high points and iconic moments in between," said Timm.

The short, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, begins with an extreme close-up of that classic car-lifting cover from Action Comics #1, which Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created in 1938, while the familiar build-up to John William's triumphant theme from the 1978 movie thrums on the soundtrack. The music eventually merges with Hans Zimmer's theme from this summer's Man of Steel, with Zimmer scoring and orchestrating the combination himself, using an 80-piece orchestra.

After a preview at the 2013 New York Comic-Con, the animated short premiered October 16th, 2013 on Cartoon Network. The animated short is also available on the home video release for the theatrical feature film Man of Steel.
