Warner Bros. Animation Unveils First Look at Upcoming Series
DC Super Hero Girls
Character Designs from Emmy® Award–Winning Producer Lauren Faust

DC Super Hero Girls is an all-new animated action-comedy series from Warner Bros. Animation and based on characters from DC Entertainment. Featuring fresh character designs and storytelling from Emmy® Award–winning producer Lauren Faust (Super Best Friends Forever, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends), DC Super Hero Girls will be coming soon to Cartoon Network.

DC Super Hero GirlsThe world may know them as Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl, but not-so-typical teenagers Diana, Kara and Barbara, alongside their Super Hero friends have much more to deal with than just protecting the citizens of Metropolis from some of the most sinister school-aged Super-Villains of the DC Universe. After all, being teens is tough enough, what with school, friends, family and the chaos that comes with managing a social life. But add super powers and a secret identity to the mix, and things can get a lot more complicated.

Sure, gal pals Bumblebee, Zatanna and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz are always there to lend an ear, a shoulder to cry on, and a fist to punch with, but what happens when Diana and her favorite study buddy and fencing partner, Tatsu, can’t agree on how to dole out justice as Wonder Woman and Katana? Or when Barbara finds out her Gotham-Con bestie is teen-fiend Harley Quinn? Along with all their friends, foes and frenemies, this squad of super teens navigates the unique growing pains that come when you’re a teenager trying to fight the battles of the world and the battles of growing up at the same time.

The new series is a global initiative with Cartoon Network and builds on the successful DC Super Hero Girls global franchise, including direct-to-video movies as well as digital webisodes launched in 2015 and viewed by millions of fans on the DC Super Hero Girls YouTube channel, as well as the DC Super Hero Girls mobile app.

Lauren Faust is executive producer with Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) also serving as executive producer.

Warner Bros. Pictures Releases Official “Teen Titans Go! To The Movies” Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first theatrical trailer for the upcoming Teen Titans Go! To The Movies animated movie, a feature-length comedy based on the top-rated Teen Titans Go! Cartoon Network series. A teaser trailer was released back in January. The movie will hit theatres everywhere on July 27, 2018. Check out the theatrical trailer in the player below, followed by the film’s official synopsis.

Warner Bros. describes Teen Titans Go! To The Movies as follows:

When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza—a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the super hero genre, complete with musical numbers.

It seems to the Teens that all the major super heroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation, and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!

Will Arnett (The LEGO Batman Movie) and Kristen Bell (Frozen) lend their voices to the first-ever big-screen version of DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network’s animated TV show, which also stars Greg Cipes (TV’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Beast Boy, Scott Menville (TV’s Spider-Man) as Robin, Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) as Cyborg, Tara Strong (the My Little Pony franchise) as Raven, and Hynden Walch (TV’s Adventure Time with Finn & Jake) as Starfire, reprising their roles from the series.

The film is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, based on characters from DC. Michail, Will Arnett and Peggy Regan are producing, with Sam Register, Jelenic, and Horvath serving as executive producers. Apart from Arnett, all are Teen Titans GO! series contributors. Set to release on July 27, 2018, Teen Titans GO! to the Movies will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Teen Titans Go! airs on Cartoon Network multiple times during the week. Stay tuned for select further coverage of Teen Titans Go! in the coming months right here at The World’s Finest.

The World’s Finest Reviews “Teen Titans: The Complete First Season,” “Static Shock: The Complete Third Season”

Warner Archive has recently provided The World’s Finest with copies of Teen Titans: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and Static Shock: The Complete Third Season on DVD to review. For fans of DC Comics and great cartoons, these two titles are well worth picking up. For complete reviews on both titles, click on the appropriate cover art below. Teen Titans Static Shock

Warner Archive describes the two releases as follows:

Teen Titans: The Complete First Season Blu-ray
With awesome super skills and powers galore, these crime-fighting partners kick butt and squash evil like nobody’s business! But as roommates in Titans Tower, it’s every hero for him/herself when it comes to living in peace. Not even super heroes can settle fights over who’s in control of the TV remote. In these 13 action-packed adventures, the Titans face all your favorite villains – Mad Mod, The Puppet King, Killer Moth and, of course, their arch-nemesis Slade – in one power-packing showdown after another. Some battles even pit the Titans against each other. Featuring bold animation, funky music and fun characters, this complete Season One from the hit TV series is an intergalactic knockout.

Static Shock: The Complete Third Season DVD
Static Shock‘s third season arrives dynamically double-charged as a new hero joins Static in his fight to protect Dakota, while the rookie hero demonstrates big-league-level experience. Virgil’s journey to the hero elites begins with a Bat-bang as Static travels to Gotham City in pursuit of a Bang Baby that’s fallen in with some seductively sinister “big sisters” – the Gotham City sirens Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. But a Batman (and Alfred) assist is waiting in the wings. Then, Richie’s knack for invention is revealed to be a Bang Baby by-product, and Richie becomes the high-tech hero Gear. But that’s just the start to a season that sees Static in Africa alongside African super hero Anansi, plus our hero battling Brainiac alongside the Justice League and tackling Toyman with Big Blue himself, Superman. The season’s end sees Static shaken to the core as he travels to the recent past to revisit the night he lost his mother.
