“Young Justice” Comic Book Sales Remain Steady With Final Issue

The final issue of the Young Justice comic series, released earlier this year by DC Comics, kept consistent sales for the acclaimed monthly title. The final issue – issue #25 – wrapped up a six-part storyline which explored some aspects of the time jump between the first and second seasons of the late, acclaimed Young Justice animated series. The February 2013 issue of Green Lantern: The Animated Series also garnered sales around it’s regular average.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series #11 moved an estimated 5,211 copies to North American comic book stores during the month of February 2013. The comic title has experiencing a steady erosion of sales since its debut earlier this year, a normal occurrence for any comic title, and looks to be heading to a roughly 5,000 final sales number for the series’ final issues. Green Lantern: The Animated Series #14 will be the final issue of the series, and is slated to ship in July 2013.

The February 2013 issue of Young Justice, issue #25, sold an estimated 7,136 copies to comic shops in North America. Young Justice #25 was the final issue of the monthly series. The title has kept consistent pace in sales, only slipping slightly between month to month due to standard attrition, and dropped by only 0.3% from issue #24. Young Justicekept consistent sales during its run, and experienced multiple sales increases when fans of the animated series realized the importance of the tie-in comic title. Please note these numbers do not take into account copies appearing on newsstands or sold digitally.
