Synopsis: Static Shock’s fourth and final season cements Static’s arrival as an A-list super hero, thanks to a Bat-charged flash-forward that sees Static (voiced by Phil Lamarr) bounce from the present-era Bruce Wayne/Batman (voiced by Kevin Conroy) to Batman Beyond’s Terry McGinnis (voiced by Will Friedle) and a glimpse at his own future self. After confronting the future’s incarnation of Kobra (voiced by Lance Henriksen), Virgil returns to Dakota City in the present, where he and Gear (voiced by Jason Marsden) tackle faux Bang Baby wannabe hero She-Bang, assist African hero Anansi and try to take down Static’s idol, Green Lantern (also voiced by Lamarr). It all comes to a head when a cure is discovered for the Bang Babies – a cure that threatens Gear’s and Static’s abilities as well!

This collection also includes the Justice League Unlimited two-part episode “The Once and Future Thing,” which follows up on elements from Static Shock‘s time-bending season opener.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Warner Archive are expected to release further details on this title in the near future. “Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero” Blu-Ray Press Details, Coming March 27, 2018

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has provided press details for the upcoming Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero Blu-ray, coming March 27, 2018 from Warner Archive. The title is currently available for pre-order for $21.99. To promote the film’s 20th anniversary, the Blu-ray will feature a remastered transfer, bonus features from the film’s original DVD release plus new content. Complete press details for the release are available below.

Warner Archive Collection (WAC) celebrates the 20th anniversary of Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero with a remastered Blu-ray™ release of the award-winning animated film. Now available for preorders, Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero will be available March 27, 2018 via wb.com/warnerarchive and your favorite online retailer.

To hail the arrival of Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero on Blu-ray™, WAC will host an hour-long panel at WonderCon on Friday, March 23 at 1:00pm in Room 300B. Warner Archive Podcast hosts D.W. Ferranti & Matthew Patterson and some surprise guests will show remastered footage and discuss the film and the evolution of Mr. Freeze from a goofy villain into an endearing multi-dimensional character who just wants to find a cure for his dying wife.

Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero Originally released as a direct-to-video film on March 17, 1998, Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero will be released on Blu-ray™ in its original 4×3 Fullframe aspect ratio. The 67-minute film will be accompanied by several special features, including Art of Batman: Music Montage; Get the Picture: How to Draw Batman; the film’s theatrical trailer; and the Batman: The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures/Batman Beyond “Mr. Freeze Saga” in chronological order – four episodes entitled “Heart of Ice,” “Deep Freeze,” “Cold Comfort” and “Meltdown.” The episodes will be presented in standard definition.

In Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero Batman faces his coolest case ever when Mr. Freeze returns to Gotham City and kidnaps Batgirl. While unraveling the mystery of Batgirl’s disappearance, Batman and Robin discover that she is part of Mr. Freeze’s frigid plan to save his dying wife – no matter what the cost. With time running out, Batman and Robin must find Gotham’s most cold-blooded villain and prevent him from putting Batgirl “on ice” forever.

Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero is directed by Boyd Kirkland, who also helmed 21 episodes of Batman: The Animated Series as well as serving as a sequence director on Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. The script is written by Kirkland and Randy Rogel, who penned nine episodes of BTAS – but is probably best known for his prolific songwriting on Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs. Andrea Romano (of course) served as casting and dialogue director.

The film was honored as the Annie Award winner for Best Home Video/Animation.

The voice cast is led by Kevin Conroy, the preeminent voice of Batman, who went head-to-head with Michael Ansara (Guns of the Magnificent Seven, Harum Scarum) as he also reprised his BTAS role of Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze.

“Watching Michael Ansara portray the anguish and passion in Freeze’s love for Nora was beautiful,” recalls Conroy. “It was an acting lesson.”

Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero also reunites key members of the Batman: The Animated Series cast, including Loren Lester (Robin/Dick Grayson), Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (Alfred), Robert Costanzo (Detective Harvey Bullock), Robert Hastings (Commissioner Gordon), Marilu Henner (Veronica Vreeland), Mari Devon (Summer Gleeson) and Liane Schirmer (Lt. Renee Montoya).

George Dzundza (The Deer Hunter, Law & Order), who voiced several characters in BTAS, joined the V cast as Dr. Gregory Belson. The film also features Mary Kay Bergman in her first and only turn as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, and Dean Jones (The Love Bug) as Dean Arbagast. The cast also includes Rahi Azizi as Koonak, Lauren Tom as Mariko, and veteran voice actors Frank Welker, Tress MacNeille, Townsend Coleman, Neil Ross, Randy Thompson and Ed Gilbert. Notable on-camera actors Brian George (Seinfeld) and Carl Lumbly (Alias, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited) also provide voices for the film.

Warner Archive Collection (WAC) continues to serve as host to some of the most beloved films, television series and animated entertainment in history – and many are now available on Blu-ray. WAC’s canon runs the gamut from restored and remastered Blu-ray classics such as The Americanization of Emily, The Big Sleep, The Great Race, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Victor/Victoria and Yankee Doodle Dandy to adored TV offerings such as Longmire (on Blu-ray), Alice and Family Matters (on DVD) to feature-length animated films, including the recent Blu-ray release of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, to animated TV series headed by recent Blu-ray releases such as Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice and a wealth of classic animated series on DVD including dozens of Hanna-Barbera classics. WAC offerings can be found via wb.com/warnerarchive and your favorite online retailer.

Warner Archive’s Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero Blu-ray release is available for pre-order for shipment on March 27, 2018 for $21.99. The title can be pre-ordered through WB Shop and other digital retailers.

Theatrical Screening, Including a First Look at Harley Quinn Featurette

Batman and Harley Quinn

Following successful big screen presentations of Batman: The Killing Joke and Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders in 2016, Warner Bros. Studios, DC Entertainment and Fathom Events are proud to announce a special, one-night cinema event for the latest DC Universe Original Movie, Batman and Harley Quinn, on August 14, 2017 in movie theaters nationwide.

One night prior to the Digital release and 15 days in advance of its arrival on Blu-ray and DVD, Batman and Harley Quinn will screen Monday, August 14 at 7:30 p.m. local time. In addition to seeing the film, audiences at the one-night screening will be the first to experience an exclusive featurette spotlighting the film’s star character, Harley Quinn.

Tickets for Batman and Harley Quinn can be purchased beginning Friday, June 30, 2017 online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). A complete list of theater locations will be available June 30 on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation from an original story spawned by animation icon Bruce Timm, Batman and Harley Quinn finds Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue (a.k.a. The Floronic Man) embarking on an ecological quest to save the planet – and, unfortunately, eliminate most of humankind along the way. To save humanity, Batman and Nightwing are forced to enlist Harley Quinn to catch Poison Ivy, Harley’s BFF and frequent partner-in-crime. But Batman’s patience is put to the test by the unpredictable and untrustworthy Harley during the twists and turns the reluctant companions face during their bumpy road trip. The result is a thrill ride of action, adventure and comedy no Batman fan has seen before.

“Fans of DC Universe Original Movies are a devoted legion, and never was that so evident than with the enthusiastic embracing of our Batman: The Killing Joke Fathom Events presentation,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Vice President, Family and Animation Marketing. “Audiences nationwide turned the screenings into true interactive experiences, and we believe Batman and Harley Quinn will inspire a similar night of celebration.”

The film boasts a stellar voice cast topped by The Big Bang Theory star Melissa Rauch in her first turn as the irrepressible Harley Quinn. The fan favorite voices of Batman: The Animated Series – Kevin Conroy as Batman, Loren Lester as Nightwing – take the protagonist leads, while Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show) provide the voices of the villainous duo of Poison Ivy & Jason Woodrue, respectively.

Sam Liu (Batman: The Killing Joke) directed the film from an original story by Bruce Timm (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) with a teleplay written by Timm & Jim Krieg (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox). Co-Producer is Alan Burnett (The Batman). Executive Producers are Sam Register and Bruce Timm. Benjamin Melniker and Michael Uslan are Executive Producers.

“Seeing Batman and Harley Quinn on the big screen and among fellow fans is truly the best way to experience it,” Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations Tom Lucas said. “There’s only one opportunity to do this and it’s on August 14. On that night, we’re expecting audiences to pack theater auditoriums just like they did for Batman: The Killing Joke.”
