“Green Lantern: The Complete Animated Series” Blu-ray Now Available From Warner Archive

Starting today, Warner Archive’s new Green Lantern: The Complete Animated Series Blu-ray title is now available to own directly from the label’s website and other digital outlets. The two-disc Blu-ray set, priced at $24.95US, features the complete 26-episode run of the fan-beloved animated series. This is the first Blu-ray release for the acclaimed Green Lantern: The Animated Series show, which is also currently available on DVD via retail and online outlets. With stunning, stylized CG animation, Green Lantern: The Animated Series takes viewers on a journey of cosmic proportions as Hal Jordan and his band of heroes fight to save the universe.

This is the latest Blu-ray animated release from Warner Archive, part of the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment studio, with previous releases including Batman: The Brave and The Bold – The Complete First Season and Beware The Batman: Season One, Part One – Shadows of Gotham. Last minute changes to the Cartoon Network schedule last week saw the weekend airings of the DC Nation programming block of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, on both Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th, 2013 replaced, with a double-dose of Teen Titans Go!. For the entire month of June 2013, the weekend hour-long DC Nation programming block will feature back-to-back episodes of Teen Titans Go!.

“Young Justice” Comic Book Sales Remain Steady With Final Issue

The final issue of the Young Justice comic series, released earlier this year by DC Comics, kept consistent sales for the acclaimed monthly title. The final issue – issue #25 – wrapped up a six-part storyline which explored some aspects of the time jump between the first and second seasons of the late, acclaimed Young Justice animated series. The February 2013 issue of Green Lantern: The Animated Series also garnered sales around it’s regular average.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series #11 moved an estimated 5,211 copies to North American comic book stores during the month of February 2013. The comic title has experiencing a steady erosion of sales since its debut earlier this year, a normal occurrence for any comic title, and looks to be heading to a roughly 5,000 final sales number for the series’ final issues. Green Lantern: The Animated Series #14 will be the final issue of the series, and is slated to ship in July 2013.

The February 2013 issue of Young Justice, issue #25, sold an estimated 7,136 copies to comic shops in North America. Young Justice #25 was the final issue of the monthly series. The title has kept consistent pace in sales, only slipping slightly between month to month due to standard attrition, and dropped by only 0.3% from issue #24. Young Justicekept consistent sales during its run, and experienced multiple sales increases when fans of the animated series realized the importance of the tie-in comic title. Please note these numbers do not take into account copies appearing on newsstands or sold digitally.
