The first season of Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles has begun, and you can discuss it right here at The World’s Finest. A trailer for the prequel short-form animated series, Justice League: Gods and Monsters – Chronicles was also recently made available. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a new video clip the upcoming feature Batman: Assault on Arkham, the next installment in the ongoing DC Universe Animated Original Movie line. The clip features Batman taking on a tactical unit under the direction of Amanda Waller. The animated movie – which will be available August 12th, 2014 on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD – features a new story based on the popular Batman: Arkham video game series. In Batman: Assault on Arkham, a routine mission by the Suicide Squad to stop The Riddler goes awry when The Joker gets involved, drawing the attention of Batman.

BATMAN: ASSAULT ON ARKHAM ENJOYS SUCCESSFUL
WORLD PREMIERE AT COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL;
DCU 2015 SLATE INCLUDES BRUCE TIMM ORIGINAL FILM
Batman: Assault on Arkham enjoyed a rousing reception at its July 25 premiere at Comic-Con International, delighting a room of 4,250 fans for the screening and panel discussion amongst actors Kevin Conroy (Batman), Matthew Gray Gubler (Riddler), Troy Baker (Joker) and John DiMaggio (King Shark), and producer James Tucker, director Jay Oliva, screenwriter Heath Corson and dialogue director Andrea Romano.
Toward the end of the panel, producer James Tucker announced the DCU slate for 2015:
– Coming in early 2015, the Aquaman origin story, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis
– Arriving sometime in the first half of 2015, Batman vs. Robin, which will feature the first-ever animated appearance of The Court of Owls.
– And potentially premiering at Comic-Con 2015 will be Justice League: Gods and Monsters, marking a return to the DCU films by animation legend Bruce Timm for this special film. Timm developed the original story and many of the character designs for Justice League: Gods and Monsters, and is producing the film. (Note: James Tucker will continue serving as DCU producer following “Gods and Monsters”)
Batman: Assault on Arkham hits Blu-ray and single-disc DVD on Tuesday, August 12th, 2014 as part of the DC Universe Original Movie line from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, in co-production with Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment. The film is now available to own via Digital HD. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released details for the 2015 titles of the acclaimed DC Universe Animated Original Movie home video line at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. The new 2015 titles, which highlight Batman and the Justice League, were announced on Friday, July 24th, 2014 during the world premiere of the new Batman: Assault on Arkham animated feature.
The upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles announced include Batman Versus Robin, which will feature The Court of Owls from the Batman comic series, coming for Summer 2015. Please note, the movie is not an adaptation of the storyline of the same name. Then, Justice League: Gods and Monsters will see release come Mid/Late 2015, and will be an original story written by Alan Burnett and directed by Sam Liu. These two titles will join the previously announced Justice League: Throne of Atlantis animated feature, slated for Winter/Spring 2014, with details on that title originally broken right here at The World’s Finest.
A co-production of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line adapts stories from DC Comics lore mixed with new content. At least three new titles have been released a year since the line’s inception in 2007.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Gary Miereanu screened the Batman: Assault on Arkham animated feature, based on the popular “Batman: Arkham” video game series at San Diego Comic-Con before announcing details on the upcoming 2015 titles.
