First Wave Of Downloadable Content For “Young Justice: Legacy” Announced

Publisher Little Orbit recently released details for the first wave of downloadable content set for the upcoming Young Justice: Legacy video game title, which is slated to arrive September 10th, 2013 for all major consoles. Young Justice: Legacy, released in conjuncture with Warner Bros. Interactive, is an Action-RPG based on the popular Young Justice animated series that fills in the gap between the first and second season of the acclaimed animated series. Little Orbit is the studio handling the upcoming video game. The video game will launch for an assortment of consoles including the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS and Wii-U. Continue below to view the official statement release from Little Orbit.

Hi Young Justice fans – it’s time to announce the first set of Young Justice: Legacy downloadable content!

We would like to first thank all of the fans that messaged us, tweeted us, sent us comments from the website, emailed us, and even called us asking for their favorite Young Justice character.

We worked hard to get special approval from WB to put the four missing active team members at the beginning of Young Justice: Invasion into the game – even if they weren’t technically around during the period when the game actually takes place.

So when the game launches on September 10th, beyond the 12 playable characters we’ve already announced, you’ll also be able to download individual extra characters or a special combo character pack to play through the game as:

- Bumblebee
- Lagoon Boy
- Wonder Girl
- Blue Beetle

Stay tuned. We’ve got other DLC packs planned for launch and beyond. So if there are other characters you’d like to play as – feel free to let us know!

A standard definition version of the recently-released trailer for Young Justice: Legacy can be found here at The World’s Finest. Click here for the high-definition edition. A description for the game can be found below.

Based on WB’s animated series airing on Cartoon Network, Young Justice: Legacy is an Action RPG where players control multiple characters in a squad created from 12 possible team members to explore, fight, gather experience, and level up. It will feature both solo and multiplayer missions that follow an epic plotline spanning many locations all across the DC Comics world of Earth-16.

A renowned archaeologist, Dr. Helena Sandsmark, is kidnapped, and the Young Justice team tracks a group of the Light’s most notorious villains around the globe in an effort to rescue her. But when the young heroes discover the Light is exploiting Dr. Sandsmark’s expertise to locate fragments of an ancient statue of legendary power, they must race against time to save the planet from imminent disaster.

A representative for Little Orbit said additional promotional material is set to be released in the coming weeks, including a presentation at the video game industry E3 convention.

Young Justice: Legacy, released by Little Orbit through Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, will hit all major home consoles on September 10th, 2013. Young Justice: Legacy is based on the acclaimed Cartoon Network animated series inspired by the DC Comics characters. Stay tuned for further updates here soon at The World’s Finest.

“Young Justice” Comic Book Sales Remain Steady With Final Issue

The final issue of the Young Justice comic series, released earlier this year by DC Comics, kept consistent sales for the acclaimed monthly title. The final issue – issue #25 – wrapped up a six-part storyline which explored some aspects of the time jump between the first and second seasons of the late, acclaimed Young Justice animated series. The February 2013 issue of Green Lantern: The Animated Series also garnered sales around it’s regular average.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series #11 moved an estimated 5,211 copies to North American comic book stores during the month of February 2013. The comic title has experiencing a steady erosion of sales since its debut earlier this year, a normal occurrence for any comic title, and looks to be heading to a roughly 5,000 final sales number for the series’ final issues. Green Lantern: The Animated Series #14 will be the final issue of the series, and is slated to ship in July 2013.

The February 2013 issue of Young Justice, issue #25, sold an estimated 7,136 copies to comic shops in North America. Young Justice #25 was the final issue of the monthly series. The title has kept consistent pace in sales, only slipping slightly between month to month due to standard attrition, and dropped by only 0.3% from issue #24. Young Justicekept consistent sales during its run, and experienced multiple sales increases when fans of the animated series realized the importance of the tie-in comic title. Please note these numbers do not take into account copies appearing on newsstands or sold digitally.
